I think most people on here are around a similar age - what was your first car???

Mine was a 1977 Vauxhall Viva 1300 GLS - yes GLS!!! :D - chocolate brown crocodile effect paintwork - faded vinyl roof - about 10 dials on the dashboard as standard (more than a boeing 747) - rear wheel drive - had soooo much fun - oh and a big hole in the passenger footwell which was like a small fountain going through big puddles!! :D - top speed was 94mph on private road - 0 - 60 - depended on how steep the hill was :D

Austin Allegro, It was mucky green colour with brown vinyl roof 8)

Had to drive round with a big bottle of water as it leaked water from just about everywhere, but got me through my driving test. Cost £100 which I split with my mum as she was learning to drive at the same time. When we both passed we flipped a coin to see who would have it... I lost ...so had to keep it. Soon scrapped it and bought a gold Capri ... I loved that car.

Well - its was a white D reg white Fiat Panda 1 ltr, whith canvas roof and deck chairs.

It would do 105 mph, down hill (private road of course).

It had crap headlights - so I mount 2 x 9 " cibie round rally lights on the front, and when I turned them on(main beam), every other light went out - including the rears, dash, the works - but I could see......

It was ace - mounted 2x 10 Inch subs in a custom install in the rear, 2 x 6 inch speakers in the front and the roof used to flex whe nI turned the stereo up.

Of course the roof had the sustomary tear in it - held togethor by silver metal gaff tape - and I carried a bucket around to put on the passenger chair when it rained.

It didnt like winter - cos I had removed all the air filter box, putting a K&N filter off a pug 205 on it. The carb used to ice up, as there was no recirc back from the header, so ran like crap. But man - was it awesome. I would have another.

    Full tank - £17 for 280 miles
    Tires - £5 each
    Insurace - 22 yr old - 3rd party - £185 a year
Price less - Drove into the back of a tyota corolla pulling onto a dual carridge way - they gave way on the slip road. Left to great rings in the back of the Toyota where the lights left an impression. The panda died and went to scrap heap heaven - I saw it winched away by throwing a strap through the doors and hoisting it away, bedning them as it did so. It was back on the road 6 weeks later.....

  19. I can't believe we have not had one of these already...

A Ford Capri 1984 A reg 1600 LS in silver and rust
