Because as of today Ive become a legal bike rider! After taking my CBT 2 months ago and my theory about 1 month ago i today (well this week, 3 days on a 500cc) completed the process by doing the Direct Access test in Southport. Never really been a bike fan and initially did the CBT as something to do after my mate at work kept going on at me to do it, but after taking to the roads found myself loving it. Theres a strange feeling of freedom being exposed to the elements and its really exhilarating. 8) Will be looking for my first bike over the winter but think its going to be a Honda Hornet (600) that my work mate will be selling shortly. For anyone thinking of doing similar i cant recommend http://www.riverviewrt.com enough, very thorough, friendly and professional. Maybe not the cheapest but definitely one of the best!
Nice one 8) so much easier to park  http://s64.photobucket.com/albums/h174/ ... ure245.jpg Goes without saying, but treat everything on the road like they aint seen you as they most likely havent!
adz, agree 100%, had to take evasive action on the test. Treat everything on the road like its out to get you!
There's a few bikers on here... http://www.ladsoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0 Congrats on passing the test! 8) Mick
The wife and I were ex-bikers - we bought the Scoob because it was the closest thing to feeling like riding a bike
Watch out for people turning right biggest killer of bikers side of car ant soft! Bikes are cool I used to love my two stroke screamers but now I have kid's I have hung up my Simpson bandit lid
used to be a biker when i was younger but after spending two months in hospital in traction and then 3 more months getting to walk again after a guy in a van wiped me off the road i gave it up for health reasons.great fun on a bike but just too dangerous these days
Congrats on passing   I love the feeling of being out on the bike, but I think EVERYONE should be made to do a CBT as part of the car test( make them realise how vulnerable bikes are  ) PS got a 600cc Suzuki bandit for sale
Totally agree, although i would emphasise to them how its their sh1te driving that makes bikes more vunerable. If i ran a CBT course,i would chase them round in a 4x4

imho bikers just take stupid risks and they wonder why they come off   ie over takieng in the middle of the road with on comeing traffic an d wiggling around on the white lines they endanger themselves and other road users. although there is sensible bikers out there, but be honest most get bikes to go fast   otherwise they would get scooters
