Does anyone know where I can obtain a STI panel filter for my MY05 STI from?. Ive trawled around the internet and so far have only found Scooby Mania, who stock them for £47 + VAT + P&P.

Got mine from Scoobymania, I think you can also get them through either Jap innovations or Prosport. They would probably have to order one.

Wouldnt it cheaper in the long run to fit a performance filter thats washable like what K&N do or will that do your warranty no good

John,

The STi filter is well known for its performance improvement and is possibly the best available. There are numerous after market dry, oiled, washable, guaranteed for a million miles etc but you get what you pay for.[;)]

lol @ Elv1s!!![:D]

I wasn there, but I suspect it may have been the other way round [?]

Decent filter should give you a very small improvement in bhp and a little more responsiveness. It is possible that torque may fall a little when you start playing with induction, decats etc until its mapped [?]

All imho, of course.

11. No - hes correct.
Tests on the same RR and same cars have shown roughly what happens.

We swapped the OEM panel filter on Jeffs old car and got a 3 BHP drop for a 10 lb/ft gain.

I swapped my Green filter for a STI for a 3 BHP drop and 5 LB/ft gain.

IIRC Tony Burns also got similar results on a OEM - STI swap.

13. TBH I Can remember [:D]
He may have got a marginal BHP increase but I do recall a deffinate increase in Torque.

The two "tests" above were both on Rolling Road 2 (IIRC there printed on the results page) , I think Tonys result was on Rolling Road 1.

Will one of these panel filters do my Sport any good?

Seem to recall that as mine is a phase 2 engine (classic Y plate) that these may not be suitable.

Or is that b******s[?]
