We had a mint mk1 scirocco come in at work under that scrapage scheme the government ran last year. 35000 on the clock and all original. Shame it couldnt go back on the road
My brother has had a couple of cool vw's the best one he had was a polo G40. That has to be up there as one of the most fun cars I have ever driven, proper sleeper

so what happened to the mk1 scirocco?? i had one 22 years ago - cough!!

with 35,000 miles it'd probably sell for about £8k

Had to be scrapped as part of the scrappage scheme

There were loads of cool cars with nothing wrong with them that were distroyed. I beleive that a dealers in blackpool took in a solid mint moggy traverler as part of the scheme. The dealers told the old chap to sell it on ebay but the old chap was having non of it. That could never go back on the road.
