We moved from Dewalt to Makita at work and Makita have definitely been more reliable. Good deals out there as well when you shop around.

I have always had dewalt from becoming a joiner 15 years ago and they have never let me down on site. My personal opinion is that the quality between makita, dewalt and milwaukee are much the same and it depends on what suits your pocket and needs at the end of the day.

i have several teams of site fitters and the tools get used hard

for screwing drilling and jigsaw's makita
for chop saws rip saws & routers dewalt

we buy most stuff from here

you may find some items a bit cheaper elsewhere but overall they are the best we have found
