    Nice car John

Bloke I used to work with hardly uses his as its horrendous on fuel

It's lime green though so that may be a good excuse for keeping it in the garage

What do you think of it John ?
I have always fancied one and to be honest could do with freeing up some of the cash I have sunk into the Scoob .

    Cracking car!

One of my Younger Customers bought one about 3 weeks ago he went from a Diesal Astra and he's just bought Lowering Springs, Wheel Spacers, and a Miltek Exhaust........

He can afford the Fuel for weekends only he's said it's horrendus!

Hi guys well just to say its not about the fuel,

i got it because i went for a test drive in 1 and really liked it,

(albeit the test drive 1 was a CRST 300bhp version)

it was punchy yet smooth, compfy yet firm with the recaro's
and a blast when you put your fut down.

I got rid of the SPEC-C it was solely a

    "don't use it enough scenario"

in the garage most the time brought out for a nice wkend or a show now and again and that was it,
what a waste of a perfectly great car doing nothing...

Dan it helped me that way free up some cash pay some bills and still enough for a nice car to drive and i use it daily,
and get 24.5mpg around town 20.3 giving it some now and again,
ive not done any motorway yet so cant return a figure for that.

If using fuel as a reason im averaging 265-280 miles per tank against 180 in the SPEC-C..
£68(super) to fill the SPEC-C £65 to fill the ST

yes it will cost the same tax the same insurance to, but i wasnt getting into a hyundai

Going for the collins performance after doing alot of checking,
new intercooler, cais and exhaust over time
to push the horses up and the fuel then will def change

Mark my words its not the last subaru i'll own im saving for that 1

Well I've had mine about two and a half years now, and cannot bring myself to part with it - as I would have no idea what to replace it with! The sound these things put out is incredible (which is no doubt helped by the decat and full Mongoose exhaust I'm running!) and for a family hatchback, they do perform extraordinarily well. I think mine is running at least 280bhp - which is plenty powerful enough for a front wheel drive car.

As for fuel consumption - the remap and mods didn't really make too much difference to be honest, but they are woefully poor on fuel. I tend to average about 21mpg (according to the fuel computer), which is not great when you compare it to other hot hatches! (The Mrs has a Corsa VXR which averages about 30mpg - and she has a lead right foot  )

So, good choice Jon - glad you're pleased with it! 8)

    Cheers Gaz

Well since i last posted about it iv had some bits put on and the difference is amazing whilst still retain avg MPG

    Collins performance stage 2 map
    Radtec intercooler
Full turbo back mongoose system with 100cell sports cat
    Code Red cais
    Ford Eibach Spring kit

Dont know exact figures collins est is 329bhp with current mods torque near on 400 but RR needed for confirmation..

Still to have fitted RS focus injectors which will give it better performance over ST ones so when fitted and the map tweaked ill get it on a RR day
