My first post in LADSOC, Hi all[:)]

I think I have problem with excess steering play, car seems to "tramline" quite a lot.
Just wondering what the most common causes are so I can start elimenating a few potential causes.
    Any ideas?
    Steering rack?
    Universal joint?
    Wheel bearings?
    Worn Bushes?
    etc etc . . .
BTW ~ Car is an my93 JDM WRX

    Hi Kevin, welcome aboard mate!![8D]

Tramlining is a popular topic when it comes to steering related issues, but im no expert on the subject[;)] No doubt your question will attract a few answers and suggestions from the guys though!

    You at the next meet?

    cheers

    Steve.

Could be any of those, but could equally just be geometry and/or tyres.

If you haven had it done yet I would suggest getting your geometry checked at a Subaru specialist (JI and AJ Whites are 2 that spring to mind [:D]) and ask whoever does it to check for any play in the rack/bushes/balljoints etc.

Thanks for the responses guys, I am going to have to get the car up on jacks and have a quick look myself. Ultimately I guess I will have to have it looked at by the "professionals"
With regard to the meet, I hope to get across.
    Cheers~
