My intercoolers looking a bit tired with bent fins and scratched paint etc.

Just wondering if theres a place that refurbishes em.

Or any "how to" guides on doing it myself ?

To be honest I would like a new intercooler but being a bit of an oddball (IE not an impreza) its very hard to find a mint intercooler for it.

    Cheers Tony

Just patience and do it yourself its very easy i did mine

ok dont get me wrong it takes time, but i used a precision screwdriver and straightened the fins, then sanded it primed it then painted it in aluminium silver..

John's right on the fins, I ensure mine is free from stones and straighten fins regularly by same method.

Does anyone know how to bring the metalwork up without painting?

I did mine up with a wire brush in my electric drill, came up quite good 8)

Ive started straightening the fins with a feeler gauge. I'll probably give it a rub down and use some hi temp silver.

Unless you want to spend all your time polishing, I would always go for the painted option.

BTW, sure you can make a £300 front mount fit the legacy...?

I could but dont really think there would be much performance gain for the effort and expenditure of a front mount.

Good reports on the Loyblox Michael, but where can you get 'em. Can't find anywhere selling them ?
