Intercooler debris

Hi all,

While doing a service on Saturday, I noticed that the top mount intercooler as got a lot of debris in the fins, little stones and lots of other little delights :shock:

Any advice on cleaning this please? I was thinking of using an Hoover?

I took mine into work and used the high pressure air line , flies n bees everywhere lol

 

Unfortunately I don't have that option

Yeah I got flies in there aswell :lol:

 

Dont hold me to this but wont a pressure washer do it ??? seal the holes up and blast it ???? They get wet anyway so water shouldnt harm it .

 

Toothpick and lots and lots of patience :roll:

 

I wouldn't pressure wash as you will bend the fins. Tooth pick and hoover on a sunny afternoon is your best bet :wink:

When you used your method, where did all the debris go?

thats going to be a LONG day - especially as mine will probably need doing too

 

You do the tooth picking and I'll do the hoovering :lol:

 

Small tiny screwdriver or plastic utensil thingy, to straighten your fins :wink:

 

You need that wire stuff with with the fluff on the outside , that would work a treat, can't think of the name of it :roll:

 

Kids craft box for the bendy fluffy wire (Good call, never thought of that one!)

 

pipe cleaners

 

Wait until the wife off shopping for the day then stick it in the dish washer :wink: :lol:

 

in the bath..... always a good laugh when she gets back :lol:

either that or get it in the bath of yours - i think it might be made for the job

 

Your right there mate cus it's not fit for anything else :lol:

 

A man not too far from here once suggested Bilberry Juice for cleaning the alloy Intercooler, can't do much (if any) damage with Bilberry :wink:

 

Makes sense, i have some that i use on my alloy wheels.
