Helicopter belonging to Colin McRae crashes!!!

Only just heard...

One of those goose pimple moments (like when Senna died, and Steve Irwin actually).

What a damned shame!

 

Proper gutted. Can't believe this happened on the same day that I picked up my new scoob from Scotland. Weird.

Speechless All our thoughts and condolences to Colins family, and the other 2 victims-a really great loss

 

My one and only sporting hero, quite simply the most exciting rally driver I have ever seen.
He always gave 100% no matter what he did and that is how I will remember him.
Great driver but more importantly a great man.

Can't start to think how the two families must feel our thoughts are with his family and the family of his friend.

I was gutted when I saw Sky News last night.

Colin inspired us with his driving style, to our love of rallying and most all of to ownership of a Subaru and the marque that we enjoy every day.

We all have our memories of him on the stages. I remember the cheers from his fans when he arrived at the start of a stage to get in his car the most. He was fearless, the best all round motorsport driver we have seen in our time.

Every scoob, every 555 logo is part of the legacy he left us. Gone but our lives were richer for him.

My thoughts and condolancies are with both families for their tragic loss yesterday.

Rallying will never be the same ! sad loss ! unbelievable that Dave Richads also crashed :shock: :shock:

Only just read all of this and I have to say my condolences go out to Colin's family for both Colin and his son.It is a very tragic day for motorsport as they have now lost another truely skilled gentleman of the sport.(I personally believe he was the only man to get the Subaru rally car to perform as it should,(whether down to driving skill or no fear I can't make my mind up)
He will be sorely missed.......

Up at five and really so keen,

3 hours to drive to get to the start

that poem really does say it all. It gave me goose bumps.

I agree we need to do something as a club as a mark of respect.

 

Do we know if any stickers will be produced like those for Richard...

Be nice if we could have something like that and donate the funds to a charity of the familys choice?

For a sticker how about half the cross of St Andrew and half the Union Jack with a 95 in the background to indicate the year of his world championship win and the Colin McRae signature with his birth date and the date of his untimely death.
