Thought I'd start a thread as I've seen a couple of older rare but 'normal' cars recently

Cars must be over 21 years old and not parked up in a Classic car garage!

Any tips on getting pics on here without the big long links would be appreciated

I saw a mark 1 Ford Orion complete with full chrome kit added by the owner, NICE

And a Toyota Cressida  WHAT! yep, Cressida

Darren I've changed your links to the way they are now, easy to do if the link you are copying and pasting is a long one, although I'm not quite sure which link your copying for it to be that long, the easiest link to copy is the one that is actually on the picture, but if not follow this to do what I've done above, which BTW is in the options when your posting

    title you want

Copy this exactly and this gives you the above option

Orion 1.6 i Ghia for me as well. Metalic Grey and a great little car. Over 20 years ago now but it was the car to have in the day.

My first car was a white Orion 1.6i Ghia, absolutely loved it, although I blew the engine up twice and it had more welding done on the floor than the Titanic! I have no pictures of it but I still have the ad from autotrader somewhere.

  10. Ford Capri 1.6 LS then upgraded to a 2.8 injection

Yep both them are on my list Ian. The 2.8i was at the time a very rapid car. Looking back though the handling was not so clever. I had two shall we say "moments" in mine where i think i was close to losing it.

3ltr S was the one that i really enjoyed.

Mk2 XR2 also a great car. Had a white one for 18 months. That was a long time for me in those days.

You are right there, made my mates (D&E Autobodies) a fortune making them straight again after they were bent around lamp posts.

My claim to fame was a 230bhp Ford Capri 2.8 Turbo Technics. cost me a fortune to get the suspension, bushes and brakes sorted to help it around the corners.

The actual car is at my mates farm in a very sorry state. I sold it in 1998 and it's pampered life turned into an abused one. I can't even go to look at it

My fave is still his metallic blue MK3 Cortina 2.0GXL though, all those dials

The white Turbo Technics was Glynns, I had the black one with Brooklands wheels. The Capri didn't come out much, but you'd have probably seen my silver Cavalier SRi130 parked at D&E.

I saw Dave a couple of weeks ago, he has a garage in Ince now, near KFC.

Ah the good old days ..........

    Little confused now :?
Is this thread about cars that we or mates have owned or about cars that we have recently seen on the road ?

The good old days??? They are still here !!
I have had a variety of cars in my years of driving (notice I didn't tell you how many years  ) my first car (bought for me by Daddy) was a Mk 1 Escort mexico which I loved, daytona yellow with custom 'go faster' stripes  But I've had a black Opel Manta GTE, a black mk3 XR3i, A rover 220 coupe, used to drive my Dad's Orion 1.6i Ghia too when he let me :? and now onto Scoobs - this one being my second, not sure what will come next in the years to come but cant see me going for a pipe and slippers car anytime soon!
