Update from Elvington today........ Great day out very hot and all come back sun burnt. The car never missed a beat all day thanks to Andy Hughes, Andy Carr,Andy Scoobyteknix, Neil, who all helped out on the day great team effort. We finished 8th overall Andy Hughes with the best time of 50.64 Steven finished with 53.24 great time as this was his first time out. The winner again was the Evo last run 47.54 we were that close. We are going to set up the camber better for round 3 on the 20th June correct a small fuel problem, i am sure we can get into the top 5 . Notice i have not put my time in. Ian REDS.
this was a great day out and and thanks to the lads who turned up and carried out some work on the car.cant wait for the next round and to see our ian break the 40mph barrier
Well done guys. Look like good times for the first attempt 8) 8) 8) Ian you may be better letting Steven do the driving. With a few words in the right ears i reckon we could get you the job of driving the Elvington Ice Cream van. May suit your driving style a little better
Excellent result there guys, hoping to make a couple of rounds of this to support you, here's hoping anyway
realy good day ian, imo i think this time was unbelievable considering that there was a perminant missfire after 5500rpm and i pretty much didnt drop below that so constant missfire for me, i think the car was defo capable of a 49 sec run but i decided it was pointless as a 49s run would still not put us in the top 4 for the shoot out. i think if you sort the misfire out ian and stiffen the susp up then the car could make the top 5 next time out. well done to you and andy ( scoobyteknix ) and also me for making the car do things that made ians eyes water lol. ps, your 1 min 10 sec lap was very acurate ian lol, sorry couldnt resist andy h
I would just like to thank everyone for there support. The car will be sorted out for the next round,as said this was a great result being the first time out at this event. Now the 1min 10 sec lap for me that was a practice lap  round 3 watch this space. Ian REDS.
Grudgement day Sunday 20th June. Update......This is round 3 of the event at Elvington anyone interested in entering can do so on the day. You will require driving license and helmet on the day and also will have to fill in a personal detail form. Check on first thread for times and costs of this event. Car update....I have now had fitted a swirl pot in the boot this should help with the fueling problem also this will allow the car to carry less fuel. We have also fitted new coil packs to clear ignition fault thanks to Andy at Scoobyteknix for the above work. I will let you know where we finish after next weeks event. Going for the top five this time. Ian Reds.
Hope you get the car sorted ian and I think the scoob will go well with those improvments, see what I'm doing Sunday, may tag along and give some moral support, will have to find some blue and yellow pom poms, was going to go to the last one but work intervened.
Great day today Well done to Ian, Steve & Andy for putting in some great times. The car really is a credit to it's owners and is so close in performance to many of the big guns who have spent xxxx ££££'s. Here are a few pics
Fastest car was running mid 34's when i left. Ian's car was low 36's so you can see how competetive it is 8) 8)
i managed to get a 35.91 on my 4th run in ians car. winning car did a 34.61. so ians car was not to far away. it was realy suffering from severe underster on tight corners so because of this i had to take the corners a bit slower to enable a bit more traction. i think a whiteline front roll bar and about another 3-4 degrees of camber on the front and the car would of been capable of getting into the shoot offs imo. all in all for the little money that has been spent on the car, it is a credit to ian and andy at scoobyteknix. andy h
