Early last week I recieved a text from Brian proudly saying 'look what I've bought!'... A week later and a 450 mile round trip we now have inside the workshop a 1966 mk1 Ford Cortina Just like before it is fitted with a full Subaru floor pan which fits absolutely perfect with no shortening of the wheelbase like last time as it stands now the car starts and drives but the bodywork is the biggest issue to addresss Currently it has a v3/4 engine freshly rebuilt with new steel head gaskets and a lot of other bits but given the last time we did this I cant see a 5 speed, standard top mount and td04 staying in there for very long... 1st mod completed within the hour... Freshly powder coated steelies in black for a nice bit of stealth Watch this space
Can't wait to see the rest of this, looks like it's going to be pretty interesting. A quick question, is it going to be 4wd or rwd? If rwd are you using the Subaru box or a different one?
Update time at last! The Cortina came back from the Bodyshop Saturday morning sporting a very intimidating new look! It has been fitted with a wide arch kit originally for a 2 door Impreza which have been widened, re-shaped and given a cut out to retain the rear doors. Since returning from the Bodyshop on Saturday, the Cortina has been fully stripped as it was still a rolling shell for painting, underneath thoroughly cleaned and coated with black stone chip, existing brake lines removed, front suspension fitted including: Freshly painted front subframe in black with gold fleck STI RA quick rack Type RA aluminium wishbones Whiteline 27mm front anti-roll bar Whiteline adjustable drop links Summit racing front 6 point subframe brace Whiteline Motorsport anti-lift kit BC ER-series remote canister coilovers K-Sport 330mm 8 pot front brake with Pagid RST3 pads Also the STI-7 short ratio 6 speed gearbox is now fitted with uprated bushes in the cradle and gear linkage Black painted finish on all the suspension with a beautiful gold fleck in keeping with the BC colour scheme and something a bit more 'old school' instead of the traditional Cams Green Massive steps being made on both cars now, hopefully both will be out to play this summer
Superb job on both the old cars. Great how the cars are easily recognisable yet have that touch more performance than in original form. Well done guys
Taxed ✅ MOT'd ✅ Mapped ✅ After some more time today the Cortina's base map has now been brought up to around 1.0bar of boost, not anywhere near full power yet but the car feels awesome! More outstanding work from Anyhony at ADE
