Hi all I'm going to need 4 new tyres. Previously I've chosen Goodyear Eagle F1's but as far as I can tell they've changed the tread pattern. I'm currently running Toyo Proxes which have good grip but don't seem to have lasted that long. In addition I'm only doing 5000mls per year and it's a non-turbo. Does anyone have any recommendations on mid range tyres? Thanks Steve
I'd stick with the toyo's they're cheap at the mo as they've changed the tread pattern and selling off the old style ones £120 a pair I paid
Surprised that all the top brands score low in fuel efficiency. Wondered if anyone has tried the Uniroyal Rainsport3 or Dunlop Sportmaxx RT?
We've sold a lot of the rainsport3's lately and have heard nothing but excellent feedback, fantastic wet tyre and a great all-rounder
Thought as much. Not really bothered about road noise but looking for something good all-year round that isn't gonna cost 100 quid a corner.
One more question. A lot of the tyres I'm seeing are Extra Load. Anyone running these on their car? Seen references to them needing different tyre pressures to standard load?
Now sorted. Went for Uniroyal Rainsport 3's in std load. £57 each from Tyreleader and arrived in 2 days. First impressions having travelled over the A62 to Huddersfield today in poor weather are good. Plenty of cornering grip and feels sharper turning in than the old Toyos. 4 free Toyo Proxes available for track day use - See for sale section.
I put Conti Sport Contact 5 on mine, if I'm honest I'm really not happy with them. I have the same tyres on my Audi company car and they feel great, but on the Subaru there just seems to be hardly any feed back at all.
Avon ZV5s on mine had Avon ZZ3 before that That's a good price for that quality of tyre tho. Well done
I think I paid around the £280 delivered mark for a full set of 18" Avon ZV5s. Superb tyre and brilliant performance in both dry/wet conditions.
