    Hi again

Can anyone tell me where the fuel filter is located on a hawkeye? Bought a new one and opened the bonnet and where the bracket normally sits on the NS inner wing I have some kind of airbox.

    Cheers for looking

Yeah it needs changing, think they're about £80!! mine failed, so did the pump, I replaced the pump with a walbro, did away with the in tank filter and fit a blob in line one under the bonnet £9 , car runs great :)

It's in the fuel tank mate, need to remove the rear seats open the panel on the drivers side and remove the fuel pump its on the sender unit above the pump

Did you have to modify much to fit the Walbro?

Is that the standard filter and bracket fitted on the earlier scoobies?

It's a standard bug/blob filter, but it's just sat on the air pump with a piece of pipe lagging round it to stop it knocking against the body ;)

Done countless conversions on these now as we've had a few of the in tank filters fail.

Yeah, the air pump pre heats the catalytic converter in the down pipe to help with the emissions, some countries check the emissions from cold on the mot.. Its basically a hairdryer, you can see it in the pic, that black plastic turbo looking thingy lol
