Just got my impreza dyno and not to impressed sti engine tdo4 tubo turno back milteck wrx fuel pump wrx injectors. Remap! For a about 3 to 4 days now the car has felt very sluggish like its heat soaked constantly but there are no cels and i have yet to reset the battery. Previously its felt rapid . 1 thing i have noticed is some times wheb i put my foot down its starts to boost then goes flat like the turbo has stopped then builds again but it does not have the puch it used to. Surely a decat turbo back with a remap on sti engine should make more than 250 bhp even standard with no mods should be more ? Only think is there were 3 fans on the dyno one pointed at my engine 2 and the bumper but after 3 runs first 252 second 248 thrid 239 i couldent even touch the intercooler it was that hot. Aldo they ran it with the bonnet up pretty much no airflow to the ontercooler. Car dyno vr tuning kendal So 2 probs why is my car not giving me the puch it used to ? Limp mode ? Why no cel And would a red hot intercooler cause an appreciatable drop in bhp torque ? Would any faults show on the scanner even though there is no cel light Would any probs show up pn this dyno read out such as if it was not making full boost ? Thanks for anyhelp i need to keep these corsa vxrs at bay theres millions of them
You need the other print outs. The ones that show power vs boost and boost vs AFR Running on the dyno with the bonnet up is a big mistake and is risking the engine for no reason.
For god sake i just assumed these guys knew what they were doing they never offerd a boost and afr print out
It sounds like these guys dont know what they are doing. I would get the fueling checked out as a minimal precaution from a repuatable place.
The fans cooling my scooby on the dyno is this a sick joke or somthing ? Supprised it made any power at all
I can't tell where this garage is, where the dyne run was done and who has been playing with your car… but thats shite mate, rather than wondering what the issue is, I would be trying to find guys to work on your car with a good reputation, if you find good people, stick with them.
Heat soak. The reason my number were down on the rolling road at vr tuning was because of heat soak i have been to a subaru specialist teg sport today he checked my car over and with proper fans and cooling to my intercooler my car made good power mr simpson himself was even supprised by what thetdo4 made on the sti engine. So im happy he gave my car the all clear and the engine is faultless. I cant believe how much power can be sapped from a heat soaked intercooler. Guess it realy pays to keep them engine bay temps down. Sure makes me think about an fmic.
This was the same spec car as the first dyno only change was the teg sport fans cooling my engine effectively !
