Yesterday I actually got a propper lesson and fully understood it ! Brian showed me and stotty how a twin plate clutch works whie he was fitting one, I now know what the rattle is and no I know I don't worry about it like I did before. I want more lessons - cheers Brian !
This is exactly why I prefer to stay and watch (if i can) when anything is done to my car, not to check that what im paying for is being done.... as i only take it to people I trust, but to see what goes where and how things work together, you can learn so much by watching/asking..
I knew nothing about them when I bought my first one, I've said it in the past if it's something that interests you you will learn and it won't be a chore like school, 8 years later some say I still know nowt
You not wrong there   John - Just remember that when you see / watch a professional doing something well, it doesn't mean it will go like that for you  As an example - watch a Pro Mogul skiing, then have a go yourself
Absolutely, really helps understanding how the car works and is set up etc. Also worth seeing Tim finish his part of the job before the other guys
