Can someone explain this to me

I'm fed up of driving to cams just to check my oil ! So last night I put a bit in then I left the dip stick out all night and car on a level surface. I always get different readings on both sides of the stick but thorght this may let the oil level. Here is my result car is cold and it's after one dip

 

Can't see it John check it like I explained.

 

I forgot what you said ! One side reads at the high mark the other reads the hot mark ! It was cold !
