What would you use and why with a budget of around 2k

I've got the itch to build something again and I really cannot make my mind up where to go. I know nova/corsas inside out and im doing a 2.0l corsa at the moment but that is for my mates girlfriend.

Im thinking another xsara VTS if i can pick one up for around £500 any other thoughts suggesstions?

205 Gti with a GTi6 lump in it. I used to have one and I'm missing it so much I'll be building myself another once I've made some space at home. Strip it out put some better springs on and drop the back end a bit and your off. There is no other car you can build for the money that will make you smile so much. It might not be the fastest car on the track but you will have the biggest grin :D

french have always made great well setup cars straight out the box...

The 306 gti6 is basically a xsara VTS and i can get a xsara VTS for around £500. A 205 with a xu10j4rs *306 gti6 engine* will be heading into the same area as a 2.0l nova. It will be fun in a straight line, but will take a big chunk of cash to get it handling right.

saying that i was impressed with a mate MI16 powered 205.

I think I would try and stretch my budget a bit and go for something like this

I understand its sold, and twice the budget, but I believe there to be more power to weight and a hole bag full more of fun.

Rally inspiration - and knowing how quick these can be - I would fancy this myself......

    hmmmmm....... Small - nippy lightweight....

And that led me on to this little beauty......
