SOoooooo. just to show how little I understand RR's, does boost come into the equation? ie, does anyone know at what boost level these figures were achieved?

And if they do, does it actually make any difference?

    <takes a step back........>

steve has your 22b allways been about 360bhp for the last few r/r

Was 361 bhp & 311 lbsft last time, with full decat, now catted + resonator. Prior to that was 330 bhp ish, I'm pleased with these figures on these rollers.

Tbh, I'm more interested in lbsft than bhp though obviously they are connected.

Steve's car is living proof that peak bhp doesn't say very much about how good a road car is.

Despite the peak power being very similar to previous RR figures, the changes he has made recently have completely transformed the car on the road.

The setup he has now would comfortably make 380lbft and 400bhp, but how hard do you want to push a 22B engine and gearbox?

    Andrew...

all i was trying to say that after spending all that cash on new mods it was still giving out same kind of power as last time but to your bit about how hard would u push a 22b engine and box .. y do it to a 22b in the first place.... it wasnt a dig but just a question i asked

The mods were not all about power Mark. A 22B is a very unforgiving car to drive and I wanted to make it a bit more friendly, and road legal.

This has been achieved in spades with huge potential still on tap.

'Power' as you put it, is nothing without torque and that's where one of the improvements has been.

Don't worry about the cash, it's me that's spending it, and as for 'why do it to a 22B', I believe nothing I have done detracts from the essence of the car. :D

Your comment does come across as a bit of a dig, but I'm sure you did not intend it.

At a guess these would have been peak/max boost that the car has been mapped for due to it due to the rolling road giving peak power, The graphs don`t show a boost curve, If they did then you could gauge what rpm the turbo would start to come in at and how quickly it would reach max boost before the car reaches max power, Obviously this would differ quite a bit from car to car as some of you have BIG turbo`s

Would also give an idea on how responsive the turbo`s are even the same turbo with a different set up, would be nice to compare to see where improvements could be made to spool up etc...

if pauls had made full boost on the rollers he would be well over 500 mark 8) 8)

Agree Gaz, that's the point I am making, apart from you don't actually get near peak boost on rollers. not enough resistance if I understand correctly.

My figures are based on only 1.27 bar rather than the (still conservative) 1.4 bar it's mapped to, so pretty good really. :D

Would be nice to see boost and afr on the same graph.

Anyone else actually know what their max boost figure was?

Btw, I am not questioning RR's, just trying to figure how to interpret the results. :D

As this is the only rolling road that the majority of you visit on here you can gauge what improvements (if any) have been made since the last time you were on the rollers.
This still has to be taken with a pince of salt as the conditions will definatly be different from day to day (atmospheric pressure, ambiant temps ect...)

Results are only really comparable when run back to back but you get a basic idea of if your mods are going in the right direction if power, torque or boost threshold is what you are after.

I'm bottom of the rankings but i'm more than happy with this, My car was sold to me as an Original classic except for a backbox change, Panel filter, and 255lph fuel pump and ,I have all the invoice's, every service, Tyre change etc, it even came the original purchase invoice.

Let's see where we go now!

A lot of 'IF's' knocking about in here...

I have to be honest though, and doubt Prosports results as being consistant or reliable.

Paul himself should be aware of that, and I reckon his car should be 550 with meths. 8)
